I was sitting with a group of friends recently and one of them asked, “Do any of you have find that it gets harder to make decisions toward the end of the day?” Sometimes when I get home, I’m too tired to figure out what to have for dinner or what to watch on TV. We all nodded yes practically at the same time. They all looked at me and said, “You’re the medical person, is something wrong with our brain’s?” Without thinking about it I said, “no it’s perfectly normal given the number of decisions that each of us makes in any given day.” I said, it’s called decision fatigue.” We all laughed and raised our glasses and toasted with an Amen to that.
As I was driving home, I found myself smiling as I was recanting our lunch. The words decision fatigue, decision fatigue kept gnawing on my mind.
I knew we were talking about habits on the podcast this month and I started thinking could habits and routines help with decision fatigue. So, I started doing some research on the subject and that’s what we are dishing on in today’s podcast.
